Kathryn Gale

About Kathryn:

Kathryn is a Registered Psychologist and Mindfulness Meditation Coach with over 20 years of experience.

Kathryn began counselling in 1996. Coupled with group training, it has been her greatest passion. Over the years she has worked on various mental health teams with a focus on holistic wellness. Since 2008, she has specialised in providing a personal counselling service for any number of concerns such as: life transition (including perinatal mental health), adjustment to physical difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, self confidence, relationships, bullying & harassment and managing change.

Passionate about a holistic approach to health and wellness, Kathryn has a keen awareness of the mind/body connection. She incorporates the principles of mindfulness and positive psychology, helping to develop self-awareness and find inner-strength. This therapy is targeted at specific life issues and circumstances at the present moment whilst acknowledging we have ingrained patterns of thinking and behavior from the past. New mindsets, alternative perceptions and strategies are explored as opposed to repeating what we know when it no longer serves us.

Ultimately, Kathryn is driven by the belief that everyone has a story and everyone goes through tough, confusing and painful times. She aims to provide a safe and supportive environment to explore concerns. Clients are then able to understand themselves and their situation with a fresh perspective.

In 2008, Kathryn expanded her specialty to Corporate Wellness by facilitating training programs with a focus on stress management, mindfulness, conflict resolution, mental health, work/life balance, and disability awareness. Working with Human Resources Departments, she has facilitated a deeper understanding of mental health and harassment issues.

Kathryn is also a Certified Meditation Teacher. Working with groups and individuals, she guides participants to become still and connect to the breath. In as little as a few moments per day, these techniques can bring dramatic improvements in stressful situations, can improve mental clarity, and a feeling of being more deeply connected to the present moment.

Kathryn has lived in Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Hong Kong giving her a direct experience and understanding of the joys and challenges of expat life. Outside of learning about mindfulness, she also loves hiking, connecting with nature, cooking, and is passionate about nutrition.
