Dicky Lau

Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapist, ISST Schroth Therapist for Scoliosis

Biography

For Dicky, physiotherapy has always been personal. As a former member of the Hong Kong Representative Youth Hockey Team, he competed in Asian tournaments and experienced the frustration of injury first-hand. Those experiences sparked his interest in helping people get back to the activities that matter to them, whether that is returning to sport, keeping up with family life, or simply moving without hesitation.

Dicky is a Hong Kong Registered Physiotherapist with experience across public hospitals, private hospitals, and private practice clinics. He brings a practical, movement-led approach to care, combining careful assessment with rehabilitation that fits each person’s goals, lifestyle, and stage of recovery. His aim is straightforward: to help clients understand their body, regain confidence in movement, and make a sustainable return to the things they enjoy.

Special Interests

Having played representative hockey and now enjoying tennis, Dicky is particularly interested in the journey from injury back to confident performance. He enjoys working with sports-related injuries and return-to-sport planning, especially for field sports and racquet sports. His approach focuses on progressively rebuilding capacity so clients can return to their activity with greater confidence.

Dicky also has a strong interest in spine health, including acute and persistent low back pain, postural management, and adolescent scoliosis. As a Certified ISST Schroth Therapist, he uses the Schroth method with adolescents and adults with scoliosis, tailoring exercise and movement strategies to the individual.

Clinical Pilates is another important part of Dicky’s practice. He uses Pilates-based exercise to develop core strength, movement control, and long-term resilience, including during recovery after orthopaedic surgery.

Outside the clinic, Dicky enjoys staying active through tennis, hockey, and outdoor exploration. He also enjoys discovering nature trails and local cafes around Hong Kong.
